Mugen Power HLI-C3000 Li-Ion battery teardown

The 2000mAh Mugen Power HLI-C3000 Li-Ion battery for my Sharp Zaurus SL-C3200 purchased from from Lion battery (Canada) failed. As they did not want the falied battery back, I decided to look inside.
Opening the case required a lot of violence. The cover was fastened by a lot od glue and also self adhesive. After breaking the cover, I found a Li-Ion cell and a small PCB with electronics. It contains a part that is probably STC6NF30V power MOSFET, unknown 5-pin IC labeled GAPC, one capacitor and three resistor (one of them is probably a termistor). Cell itself has 33mm × 10mm × 47mm.
Testing
indicated that the cell is in a parfect condition, but the electronics
failed. Short inspection quickly found reason of the failure: a cold
joint, a big pain of lead free soldering.
The battery was a bit thicker than the original, so I decided to
grind away a bit of top and bottom plastic. Fixed battery looks a bit
jagged, but it finally
works.
