Software projects

• AMR Codec Libraries for GNU-Linux (amrnb, amrwb): Reference implementations of 3GPP Adaptive Multi-Rate Floating-point (AMR) Speech Codec (3GPP TS 26.104 V 6.1.0) and 3GPP AMR Adaptive Multi-Rate - Wideband (AMR-WB) Speech Codec (3GPP TS 26.204 V6.0.0) as a shared library.
• MltRec: Remote control program for Minolta DiMAGE A1 camera – remote camera control, remote capture, getting live image and downloading snapshots.
• TeX:
  • EncTeX and perfenc: Programs for changing encoding in TeX.
  • Upages: Quite new format for TeX, successor of Plain TeX which adds many new features.
• CD tools: Tools for work with CD.
• Matchbox 2 Project Heritage: Some resources saved from former Matchbox 2 project upstream.

Simple programs

• exifrot – EXIF rotate marker: Simple ugly script and Nautilus script, which sets RT EXIF rotation tag for images from digital cameras, which are not capable of it (e. g. my Minolta DiMAGE A1). The basic difference of this marker and other EXIF editors is a fact, that this marker does it in-place, without rebuilding of EXIF info. For this reason, all proprietary camera tags are saved and your camera can display it, when it is saved there. Needs exifprobe utility.
• Fan Speed Control Daemon: Small daemon for controlling of fan speed using lm_sensors.
• Atari XE/XL: Few my own programs for eight bit Atari XE/XL computers.
• Spam statistics: Small scripts for spam statistics and removing.
• mkcd: This is a set of scripts for unpacking archives full of relative symlinks for example for creating multiplatform usable CD.
  This regenerates complete structure of directories and replaces all symlinks by hardlinks. It works recursivelly for symlinked directories. It takes special care for saving all timestams.
• Extremelly Naive Slovak to Czech Translator (for more see Czech version of this page).
• etheme_charset: Small Perl script for changing charset in Enlightenment themes. It inspects fonts used in all unpacked Enlightenment themes and creates alternative themes with changed charset.
• deltaserver: Two applications for downloading deltas only over slow lines - deltaserver and deltaclient. One on machine with leased line to net, with shell account (server), second at home with dial-up (client). Suppose we have at home archive foo-1.0.tar.gz, change to its directory, and type

  deltaclient ftp://somewhere.on.net/path/foo-1.0.tar.gz ftp://somewhere.on.net/path/foo-1.0.1.tar.gz

  Deltaserver fetches both over leaset line, compares by xdelta and sends via dial-up only delta file. From it and previous version it reconstructs new version. By principle it works only on ordinary .tar.gz, .tar.bz2, but not on double-compressed .rpm. Bad results are on binaries, but for pure source it is 3-4x more effective than diff, and it doesn't reject binary files.

  Before use you must edit utx@penguin.cz (and resp. ssh/scp) to correct name of your machine (resp. protocol/password).

• genopts: Script for generating nice GNU getopt-like bash-only parsers.
  Features:
  - Meta language for switch description.
  - Automatic generating of --help and --version string.
  - Pure bash coding - no external utilities needed.
  - NLS support.
  - No docs yet, but complete example added.

• GNU-FHS: GNU-FHS is a small script, which provides straightforward relation between FHS (Filesystem Hierrarchy Standard) and GNU Coding Standards. Installation of it implies FHS conformant definition of GNU standard directories (e. g. bindir, sbindir, datadir etc.) to those recommended by FHS. Only needed from now is to specify --prefix. All paths are then defined correctly.
• utf8ize: Small script for renaming files on file system from locale dependent encoding to UTF-8 file names. Verbose and self-descriptive. You need genopts (can be downloaded on this page). Now with symlink support.

• Few scripts for bi-directional communication with PJL/PCL printer. Few script with different quality:
  • Direct print with miscellaneous screen frequency.
  • Bi-directional communication with printer in PJL language - read or change setup (done from original program, kept 3 lines and comments).
  • Toner usage statistics utility. Have problems with ifhp (part of LPRng).
• Few local things (needs to be edited). No docs.

Patches

• exiftool byte exact EXIF editor patch for Minolta DiMAGE A1: Patch for exiftool, which allows to byte exact revert to the original Minolta DiMAGE A1 camera file by removing custom tags.
• psutils-flip: Patch for pstops from Postscript utilities psutils to allow page flipping (i. e. mirroring). Useful for creating of print matrices on transparent films.

Obsolete software updates

• directory with patches: Here you can find special patches, which I have ever done or used for my OSBuilder system, and what I have not solved by a short sed script. Most of them has become a part of packages or was fixed in other way.
• GL620USB-A: Linux drivers for USB-to-USB chip.
• wireless extensions update: If you don't want to update your kernel, but want to use latest wireless extensions, you can use my files and this method.
• gocr-czsk: First attempt to learn GOCR to recognize Czech and Slovak characters. Only UTF8 output is implemented for now, and heuristics for characters ďťľĽ is missing.
• exifprobe patch for Minolta DiMAGE A1: Patch for exifprobe utility, which adds some Minolta DiMAGE A1 digital camera specific EXIF Maker Note tags (now upstreamed).
• fileutils-stripnofail: Patch for GNU sh-utils install program to ignore error File format not recognized when using install -s.
• sh-utils-su-savemore: Patch to save more variables (TERM, COLORTERM, DISPLAY) in GNU sh-utils su command.
• wwwoffle-demoronise-cp1250: Patch for stupid indexing programs using wwwoffle and ignoring charset, which adds config option to convert CP1250 to ISO-8859-2.
• Czech Language for Linux: See Czech version of this document (no need to be translated).
• Czech localisation of GIMP, GTK+, gnome-media, TeleGnome, RadioActive, XSane. Co-operation on localisation of galeon, glibc, ggv, gcc, gnome-libs, gnome-core and unfinished translation of wwwoffle.
